Without formal training systems at the time, Indian craftsmen developed their expertise through patience, self-learning, and hands-on work. Their natural precision and craftsmanship helped create a strong tradition of mechanical watch restoration in India.

This knowledge and watchmaking heritage were passed from generation to generation.

However, after the introduction of cheaper quartz watches, many traditional watchmakers and restoration experts were heavily impacted, and much of this craftsmanship slowly disappeared from the market.
